First, the author describes the political and legal setting for the trial: the victors' intentions, the trial's legality and legitimacy, the laws and rules created for it, as well as its actual implementation. Next, the prosecution's methods are scrutinized: the use of prior trials conducted under questionable circumstances, dubious expert reports, and testimonies as well as affidavits, many of them acquired under duress.
